Psalm 11:1-3 “I’ve already run for dear life straight to the arms of God. So why would I run away now when you say, ‘Run to the mountains; the evil bows are bent…aimed to shoot under cover of darkness at every heart open to God. The bottom’s dropped out of the country; Continue Reading…
2 Timothy 2:13 “If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.” I recently told someone who worried about being irresponsible, “You couldn’t be irresponsible if you tried. It’s just not in your DNA.” I think the same way about God’s faithfulness. The limitless, unfathomable Creator of Continue Reading…
Job 1:22 “In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.” Satan hurled everything he could to throw Job off track and derail his relationship with God. He will try the same strategies with us… First, Satan sends invaders to kill Job’s servants and steal his livestock. Continue Reading…
Psalm 142:2 “I pour out before him my complaint; before him I tell my trouble.” Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer! That bids me from a world of care… How incredible to know we have someone who always makes time to hear us. Someone who doesn’t pull out a Continue Reading…

Psalm 141:8 “But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge….” Where do your eyes go in times of trouble? Do they frantically dart from one potential source of help to another? Do they gaze inward, withdrawn into an inevitable look of defeat? Maybe Continue Reading…
Psalm 3:6 “I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.” It’s easy to say “I will not fear” when the lights are on and our enemies gone. When the wedding ring is placed on the girl once terrified she would never find a husband. When the son Continue Reading…
1 Corinthians 13:12 “We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just Continue Reading…
John 6:29 “Jesus answered, ‘The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.’” “It’s easier to be depressed than to trust.” Have you ever been there? Discouragement takes over, pummels you to the ground and in an instant you’re down for the count. You don’t have Continue Reading…
